Neighborhood Watch sets Saturday giveaway
Posted: April 23, 2015

GREENVILLE — The Southside Neighborhood Watch on Saturday will host a giveaway at Maude Bryan Park. “People in the Southside Neighborhood Watch will pull together donations for the event,” said Sgt. Kvonya Moore, who coordinates Neighborhood Watch groups throughout Greenville. “We give away everything from clothing, furniture, dishes, anything that people find in their homes that they no longer need or something they may have a little extra of.” The giveaway is set for 9-11 a.m. Saturday at the park on South Theobald Street. “We really want to get a lot of people coming out, and it’s open to everyone, not just members of the Southside Watch or people in that area,” Moore said. Greenville has several Neighborhood Watch groups, including in the Cannon and Lotus area, Rosedale and Sewannee area, Hunt Street and Greenville Park Addition.  The Neighbor Watch groups have been hosting giveaways since 2004.  This is the first Neighborhood Watch giveaway this year. “What we’re really trying to do is take one man’s trash and make it another’s treasure,” Moore said.
