Lucy Lamberson
LELAND — Private graveside services for Lucy Margaret Lamberson, 96, a long-time resident of Leland, will be held Thursday, May 7. She passed away Monday, May 4, 2020, at Legacy Manor Care Center in Greenville. Arrangements are under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Leland.
Born June 28, 1923, in Hamburg, Arkansas, she was preceded in death by her parents, Hardy B. and Tennie Lee (Vail) Foster; and her husband of 55 years, Cecil Lamberson Sr. She was also preceded in death by her three brothers, Hardy B. Foster Jr., Chester Foster, and Carl Foster; her grandson, Jack (JR) Lamberson Jr.; and daughters-in-law, Debra (Fisher) Lamberson and Patsy (McAfee) Lamberson.
A sweet and loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Lucy was a member of Parkview Baptist Church, Leland. After retiring from Greenville Mills in 1988, she loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Lucy is survived by her four sons, John Lamberson Sr., of Oxford, Cecil Lamberson Jr. (Penny), of Brandon, Roger Lamberson (Barbara), of Columbia Falls, Montana, and Jack Lamberson Sr. (Debbie), of Leland; 10 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Services are being officiated by Dr. Jon Doler, pastor of Leland First Baptist Church.
