GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Donald Brown, 64, a phone technician of Greenville will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mortimer Funeral Home. He died July 14, 2010, at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery, under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville.

Clark

RULEVILLE — Funeral services for Charlie Clark, 58, of Ruleville will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at New Jerusalem Church, Ruleville. He died July 13, 2010, at Greenwood Leflore County Hospital, Greenwood. Burial will be in Mt. Galilee Cemetery, Ruleville, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

Survivors include his brothers, Billie Clark of Ruleville and Willie Bass of Memphis; and sisters, Dorothy Bell Clark of Drew and Mildred Ann Bell of Natchez.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

Edwards

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Ozell Edwards, 73, of Greenville will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat MB Church, Greenville. He died July 11, 2010, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Survivors include a son, Mark A. Brooks of Mansfield, Ohio; four daughters, Lynette Woods of Peoria, Ill., Barbara Ann Pollard of Gardena, Calif. and Sharon Cleveland of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren; one brother, the Rev. Saint Elvin (Ruth) Young of Greenville; two sisters, Joyce Turner of Greenville and Savanah (Rev. John) Jones of St. Louis, Mo.; seven sisters-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville. Remains will lie in state at the church Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

The Rev. Gene Fowler is pastor of the church and the Rev. J.A. Sills will officiate.

Fedrick

DREW — Funeral services for Sallie Mae Fedrick, 63, of Drew will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Holly Grove Church, Drew. She died July 10, 2010, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in New Jerusalem Cemetery, Longlake, Miss., under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Ruleville.

Survivors include her sons, Sherman Sutton of Horn Lake, Walter, Montrell and Floyd Fedrick, all of Drew, Ronald Fedrick of Cleveland and Lee Fedrick Jr. of Mark; daughter, Shirley Sutton of Cleveland; brother, Benjiman Sutton of Nashville; sisters, Sadie Davis of Pompano, Fla., Linda Vance of Drew, Laura Hudson of Ruleville and Lillie Fedrick of Drew; 27 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

INDIANOLA — Funeral services for Tremarious Hudson, 1 year, of Indianola will be at noon Saturday at Mt. Zion Heathman MB Church, Indianola. He died July 12, 2010, at his home. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Heathman Church Cemetery, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

Survivors include his father, Renagro Gibson and mother, Loni Hudson, both of Indianola.

HOLLANDALE — Funeral services for Willie Lee Johnson Jr., 79, of Hollandale will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Horeb Church, Hollandale. He died July 9, 2010, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Sanders Memorial Gardens, Hollandale, under the direction of Sanders-Byas Funeral Home, Hollandale.

Survivors include his daughters, Edna (John) Granger of Brooklyn Park, Minn., Sarah Brown of Chicago, Ill. and Pamela (Elin) Thomas of Dallas, Texas; sons, Melvin Harris of Greenwood, Larry Harris and Leroy Johnson, both of Hollandale, Tyrone (Cheryl) Johnson of Colorado, and Kenneth Johnson of Memphis, Tenn.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Muncher

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Betty Jean Muncher, 68, of Greenville will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Boone-Wells Funeral Home. She died July 13, 2010, at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home.

She was a native of Soso, Miss. moving to the Delta where she graduated Leland High School. She was employed with Riverside School for about 15 years and then went to work at Sears for 14 years. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lavelle and Oma Ainsworth; and siblings, Johnnie Miller, Otha Ainsworth, Atha Ainsworth, Bobby Ainsworth, Lucy Ainsworth and Donnie Ainsworth.

She is survived by her husband, John W. Muncher Jr. of Paducah, Ky., Richard Muncher (Vicki) of Cottondale, Ala. and Glenn Muncher (Lori) of Greenville; 11 grandchildren, Chris Kimes (Ashley), Jonathon Muncher (Muriel), Jason Muncher (Amanda), Daniel Muncher, Jennifer Muncher, John Michael Muncher, Haeleigh Muncher (Brent), Grant Muncher, Hunter Burford, Harrison Burford and Hayden Burford; and two great grandchildren, Jax Kimes and Miller Tharp.

The family will receive friends Friday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Myres

JACKSON — Graveside services for Meade S. Myres, 49, of Jackson will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Greenfield Cemetery, Glen Allan. He died July 13, 2010, at his home in Jackson. Burial will be under the direction of Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

Mr. Myres was born April 6, 1961, the son of the late Harper Rivers Myres Jr. and Jane Horne Turner Myres.

Mr. Myres is survived by his sister, Jenny Virden; his brothers, Rivers Myres and John Myres; his aunt, Emma Jean Myres Lake McIntyre; his cousin, Claire Lake Quittmeyer; two nieces; and three nephews.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Boone-Wells Funeral Home, Greenville.

Phillips

MILWAUKEE, WIS. — Funeral services for Charlie Mae Simpson Phillips, 68, of Milwaukee, Wis., and formerly of Indianola, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Persimmon Grove MB Church, Sunflower. Powell

LELAND — Funeral services for Mary Lee Powell, 60, of Leland will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Family Worship Center, Greenville. She died July 11, 2010, at her home. Burial will be in Old Morning Star Cemetery, Leland, under the direction of Frye Funeral Home, Leland.

Mrs. Powell was born Feb. 20, 1950, in Leland, Miss.

She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Combs; two sisters, Alice Turner and Carrie Broome; two brother, Robert Combs Jr. and John Green; two sons, Stanley James Powell and William L. Powell III.

She is survived by her husband of 40 years, Dr. William Powell Jr. of Leland; two daughters, Stephanie (Paul) Davis of Lafayette, La. and Jasmine Powell of Leland; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of service.

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Bobbye D. Sharkey, 68, of Greenville will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovahas Witnesses, Greenville. She died July 11, 2010, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville.

Shelton

MADISON — Graveside services for Walter Lee Shelton, 90, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Greenville City Cemetery on Main Street. He died on the evening of July 13, 2010, having just celebrated his 90th birthday. Arrangements are under the direction of Wright & Ferguson, Madison, Miss.

He is a native Mississippian who was born in Greenville, spent his early years in Belzoni, and his later life in Jackson and Madison.

Mr. Shelton was educated at Davidson College, University of Mississippi and Bowling Green Business College. As a member of the Army Air Corp in WWII, he served with distinction as a Glider Pilot and later as a Combat Intelligence Officer.

After discharge, he returned home to Mississippi where he started his family in Belzoni and began a successful career as an entrepreneurial businessman. During which time, he was known and respected as being a man of his word. Apart from his many professional accomplishments, he was most proud of his time as a Special Assistant to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association and as a Deacon of the First Presbyterian Church of Jackson.

He is survived by three children, Walter Shelton, Betty Lee Falkner, and Nolan Branton and his grandchildren who loved him.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 9 to 11 a.m. at Wright & Ferguson in Madison, MS.

In appreciation of the loving care provided by hospice, the family has requested donations be given to The Odyssey Hospice Foundation at 2001 Airport Road, Suite 304, Flowood, MS 39232 in memory of Mr. Shelton.

Strong

INDIANOLA — Funeral services for Willene Strong, 86, of Indianola, and formerly of Greenville, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Greater Hinds Street MB Church, Greenville. She died July 13, 2010, at South Sunflower County Hospital, Indianola. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Survivors include a common-law husband, the Rev. E.L. Haythorne of Greenville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville. Remains will lie in state at the church Saturday 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.

LELAND — Funeral services for Ronald Earl Tyler Sr., 48, a retired Navy veteran of Leland, and formerly of Hollandale, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Simmons High. He died July 8, 2010, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville. Burial will be in Sanders Memorial Gardens, Hollandale, under the direction of Sanders-Byas Funeral Home, Hollandale.

Walson

INDIANAPOLIS, IND. — Funeral services for Elena Frances Jemison Walson, 52, of Indianapolis, Ind., and formerly of Greenville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Olivet MB Church, Greenville. She died July 9, 2010, at Seton Specialty Hospital, Indianapolis, Ind. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Elena was the 10th of 12 children of Henry and Mary Frances Jemison Sr.

Elena dedicated her life helping her family, her students at Greenville High School; schools in Oakland, Calif.; and Harshsman Middle School in Indianapolis, Ind. where she was selected as Educator of The Year 2008.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Brother Benny Jemison; grandparents, Charlie and Rosie Davis, and Benjamin and Elena Wilson; and brother-in-law, Maxray Cartledge Sr.

Her memories will be cherished by her husband, Joseph S. Walson; daughters, Courtney Jolena, Cayla Nicola and Candance Marie, all of Indianapolis, Ind.; brothers, Ronald (Bonnie) Wilson, David (Kim) Rodgers of Long Beach, Calif., Henry (Martha) Jemison of Little Rock, Ark., Isaac Rodgers and James Jemison of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Boris Jemison of Indianapolis, Ind.; sisters, Doris Williams and Odessa (Willie) Brown of Jackson, Mary Cartledge of Greenville and Shanekia Jemison of Memphis, Tenn.; sister-in-law, Martha Jemison of Greenville; special nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles, cousins, other family members and friends; and a special friend, Bernita (Kenneth) Burden of Greenville.

Survivors include a brother, A.C. (Joyce) Watson of Las Vegas, Nev.; sisters, Pearline Lewis and Linda Watson, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; Josie Mae Barber of Newelton, La.; Rosella Watson of Calmeta and Rebecca (Roscoe) Williams of Delta City; and a host of other relatives and friends.
