She was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Green Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories: one daughter, Luella Hunter of Greenville; five sons, Anthony (Mary) Green Jr. of Greenville, Peter (Michelle) Green of Arcola, Eddie (Laura Ann) Green of Houston, Texas, Ricky (Doris) Green of Greenville and Michael (Annette) Green of Mayersville; two sisters, Earnestine McKenny of Chicago, Ill. and Anice Stewart of Madison, Wis.; three brothers, Earnest Stewart of Chicago, LeRoy Stewart of Greenville and James Stewart of Chicago; one special son-in-law, James Hunter Sr. of Chicago, Ill.; 22 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Lillie Green of Chicago and Jossie M. Jackson of Vicksburg; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville.

CLEVELAND — Funeral services for Pauline T. Holmes, 92, of Cleveland will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethel AME Church, Mound Bayou. She died Oct. 10, 2010, at Bolivar Medical Center, Cleveland. Burial will be in Mound Bayou Cemetery, Mound Bayou, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland.
Survivors include her husband, Columbus P. Holmes of Mound Bayou; sons, Kenneth R. Holmes of Boston, Ralph L. Holmes of Nashville and Clarence A. Holmes of Cleveland; daughters, Mercedes Lytle and Paula Holmes, both of Nashville; brothers, Elvin Thompson and Herbert Thompson Sr., both of Chicago, and Eltea Lambert of Mound Bayou; sisters, Almeta Glover of Mound Bayou and Delora Forehand of Chicago; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland. The body will lie in state from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday.

LELAND — Funeral services for Jerdo Robert “Papa Bear” Newson Jr., 71, will be held Saturday, Oct. 16 at noon at New Mt. Ararat Baptist Church in Stoneville.
He died Oct. 6 at University Medical Center in Jackson.
Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Greenville with the Rev. Jerdo Robert Newson III officiating.
Visitation will be held Friday, 2-6 p.m. at Byas Funeral home. The body will lie in state at the church; 11 a.m. until noon prior to the funeral.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Newson of Leland; two sons, Jerdo (Beverly) Newson III; and Jerdo Dennis Newson of St. Louis, Mo.; daughters Amanda (Sam) Johnson of Irving, Texas; Vanessa (Rev. Clifton) King; and Jermica Newson, both of Leland; Valerie (James) Hadley of Horn Lake; a sister, Ruthie Mae Harvey of Greenville; 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; and a host of other friends and relatives.
