Banks

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Marie Glover Banks, 91, of Greenville will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Greater Hinds Street MB Church, Greenville. She died Sept. 9, 2010, at her home. Burial will be in Delta Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

She was preceded in death by her husband, L.C. Banks; and three daughters, Margie Sims, Elizabeth Banks and Yvonne Banks Cotton.

She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Bettye Singleton and Mary Thomas, both of Greenville; one son, Clifton “Bubba” (Daisy) Banks of Rochester, N.Y.; her extended children, Jhai Sims, LaGarrious Sims, and Florence Cooper, all of Greenville; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville. Remains will lie in state at the church Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.

Pastor Thomas Morris Sr. will officiate.

Bass

MARKS — Funeral services for Forrest “Sweet P” Bass Jr., 43, of Marks, and formerly of Cleveland, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at New Morning Star COGIC, Cleveland. He died Sept. 11, 2010, at Baptist East Memorial Hospital, Memphis, Tenn. Burial will be in Delta Heights Cemetery, under the direction of T.L. Redmon Funeral Home, Cleveland.

Birdsong

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Eddie Mae Birdsong, 76, of Greenville will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sisson Chapel, Byas Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Sept. 8, 2010, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital, Greenwood. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.

Survivors include her son, Elzy (Lois) Myles of Milwaukee, Wis.; daughter, Brittany Birdsong of Greenville; brother, Booker (Jackie) Birdsong of Greenville; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.

Cooper

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for James Lewis Cooper, 51, of Greenville will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Horeb Baptist Church, Greenville. He died Sept. 11, 2010, as a result of an accident on U.S. 82 West. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, Greenville, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.

Survivors include his father, Monroe Dillard of Cleveland; mother, Emmer Gean Dillard of Greenville; wife, Gloria Hunter Cooper of Greenville; daughter, Michelle Hunter of Greenville; sisters, Joyce Dillard of Greenville and Janice Dillard of Cleveland; brothers, Monroe Dillard Jr., Eddie Dillard and Andrew Dillard, all of Cleveland, Walter Dillard of Symond and Calvin Dillard of Memphis, Tenn.; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.

James

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Minnie Louise Winder James, 63, of Greenville will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Greater Hinds Street MB Church, Greenville. She died Sept. 11, 2010, at her home. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.

Survivors include six sisters, Lula Bell Powell of Greenville, Dianne Winder of Jackson, Shirley Winder and Mary (Curtis) Cox, both of Greenville, Lillie (Pete) Brown of Vale City, Va., and Lisa Burchfield of Greenville; seven brothers, Willie Lee Winder and Rodney Winder, both of Greenville, Jerome (Tina) Whitaker of Austin, Texas, Willie Whitaker of Greenville, Texas, Kerry Whitaker, Terry Whitaker and James White, all of Greenville; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville. Remains will lie in state at the church Saturday from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m.

Lattomore

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Barnett Lattomore, 50, of Greenville will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Greenville. She died Sept. 10, 2010, at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be in Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of Harris Brown and Marion Funeral Home, Greenville.

Survivors include her mother, Earnstine Duncan; a special friend, Robert T. Thomas; three daughters, Latasha Hurt, Aurally Lattomore and Monaco Lattomore; one son, Charles Lattomore, all of Greenville; two brothers, Jerry Brewer and Henry Duncan Jr., both of Greenville; one sister, Vina Duncan of Greenville; 11 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 5 p.m. at the funeral home. The body will lie in state Saturday from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at the church.

McGhee

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Clarence McGhee Jr., 82, of Greenville will be at noon Saturday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Greenville. He died Sept. 14, 2010, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville.

Survivors include his wife, Doris McGhee of Greenville; five children, Greg Collins of Memphis, Tenn., Debra McGhee of Fort Worth, Texas, Ronald (Andrea) McGhee of New Brunswick, N.J., and Rose (Arusher) McGhee and Clarence McGhee III, both of Greenville; 18 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Friday from 1 to 6 p.m. at Redmon Funeral Home Chapel, Greenville. Remains will lie in state Saturday from 11:30 to noon at the church.

Brother W.A. Johnson will officiate.

Miles

MORGAN CITY — Funeral services for Classie O. Miles, 93, of Morgan City will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Calvary MB Church, Morgan City. She died Sept. 12, 2010, at Golden Age Nursing Home, Greenwood. Burial will be in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Morgan City, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

Survivors include children she raised, Attorney Clint Gunther and Fred N. Gunther, both of Greenwood, and Curt Gunther of Memphis, Tenn.; sister, Maggie Chandler of Morgan City; and special nieces, Mary Brock of Morgan City and Ollie B. Childs of Greenwood.

Visitation will be Saturday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

The Rev. Patrick Stubbs will officiate.

Miller

GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Marquita D. Miller, 26, of Greenville are pending at Frye Funeral Home, Leland. She died Sept. 15, 2010, at her home.

Taylor

INDIANOLA — Funeral services for Mahaley Finney Taylor, 86, of Indianola will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First United Baptist Church, Indianola. Taylor died Sept. 14, 2010, at Gulfport Memorial Hospital, Gulfport. Burial will be in Riverside Memorial Gardens, Indianola, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

Survivors include daughters, Ora Lee Wilkes of Joilett, Ill., Carolyn Davis of Rockford, Ill. and Lena Mae Singleton of Indianola; granddaughter, Lakeisha Taylor (Curtis Jr.) Cotton of Gulfport; grandson, David Davis; great-grandchildren, Daishawn and Daiterriya Davis, and Mattie and Mattise Guidroz; three cousins, Fannie Bell Richardson, Brazil Jones and Willie Brown; and two special friends, Virgina Madison and Martha Grant.

Visitation will be Friday from 2 to 6 p.m. at Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.

Vaugn

BEULAH — A memorial service for Julious S. Vaugn, 67, of Beulah will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Community Temple COGIC, Mansfield, Ohio. She died Sept. 6, 2010, at St. Dominic-Jackson Hospital, Jackson. Byas Funeral Home of Greenville and Williams Funeral Services of Mansfield, Ohio are in charge of arrangements.

Weeks

DREW — Funeral services for Sharon K. Weeks, 49, of Drew will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at T.L. Redmon Funeral Home Chapel, Cleveland. She died Sept. 11, 2010, in Drew. Arrangements are under the direction of T.L. Redmon Funeral Home, Cleveland.
