The Greenville Public School District is investigating “suspicious activities” involving a teacher, but what exactly is not publicly known.
On Friday, the Greenville Public School District released a statement that the district was made aware of alleged suspicious and inappropriate behavior involving an educator.
According to the press release, GPSD Superintendent Dr. Debra Dace said the district considers it a very serious matter and has begun, “a full and active investigation on the incident in question.”
According to the press release, Dace also stated the safety and well being of students, staff, and stakeholders is the district’s highest priority and GPSD will continue following all the proper guidelines, laws, and applicable procedures accordingly.
“GPSD wants its constituents to know that the district is treating this as a personnel matter and will continue to work proactively in collaboration with all local law enforcement and support agencies moving forward,” was also stated in the press release.
All questions, including what grade the teacher was in and if it involved a student, have been unanswered.
GPSD Public Relations Specialist Everett Chinn said, “In an effort not to compromise an open investigation, we cannot release any further details or information related to this case at the time.”
