A man has turned himself in for the shooting of a man found dead in his car this weekend.
Takendre Edmond, 25, surrendered himself to the Greenville Police Department Sunday afternoon for shooting and killing 43-year-old Latarous Harris on Saturday.
Greenville Police Department Assistant Police Chief Michael Merchant said officers received a call at about 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 27, about a shot person in the 800 block of North Theobald Street.
Once on scene, officers found Harris in the passenger seat of a grey Lexus in the 800 block of North Theobald Street.
The Washington County Coroner pronounced Harris dead on scene.
Investigators from the Criminal Investigation Unit said they believe a dispute started between Harris and Edmond that resulted in gunfire between both men.
“The investigation reveals gunfire may have been exchanged against the two,” Merchant said.
Edmond was taken by police to Delta Health-The Medical Center, where he was treated for a gunshot wound in the upper right arm. He remains in police custody with no bond set at this time.
