Greenville’s newest hotel, Tru by Hilton, opens its doors Thursday

Tru by Hilton, Greenville’s newest lodging attraction, is set to open its doors to guests Thursday evening. 

The 84-room hotel that broke ground in July 2018 is a joint partnership formed by the Chawla and Retzer families — Suresh Chawla, Mike Retzer and Michael Retzer.




WLSD preps students, staff for crisis with active shooter drills

Communities and schools can never take enough precautions, especially when a crisis strikes.

Western Line School District hosted an active shooter drill Tuesday morning at Riverside Elementary and Riverside High schools and again in the afternoon at O’Bannon Elementary and O’Bannon High schools.



Thousands feel ‘the blues’ at MACE’s 42nd annual festival

The Mississippi Delta heat didn’t stop festival goers from making their way to the Queen City this weekend to get a taste of the blues. 

The 42nd annual Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival drew about 10,000 people to the Washington County Convention Center fairgrounds Saturday. 


Hollandale’s Sam Chatmon Blues Festival kicks off in less than a week
