Monuments tours to bring stories of Greenville’s past alive

Delta Center Stage is getting ready to present another round of the Monuments on Main Street Greenville Cemetery Tour next week.

Historical researcher for the event Kathy Davis Day said these tours are a positive event that’s not only fun, but teaches locals about the city’s history.

Winterville Mounds hosting fourth annual meeting Sunday

The Winterville Mounds Association (WMA) is having its fourth annual meeting at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at the Winterville Mounds Museum.

Principal Chief Hutke Fields of the Notchie (Natchez) Nation will be the featured speaker.  

Native American foods will be served, and annual dues and donations will be collected at the meeting.

Charter School application in process for new Greenville school

An effort to provide an additional education option is underway in Greenville as preparations to apply for a charter school license have been made.
Reggie Whitley has started the process of creating a charter school, Relentless Preparatory Academy, with the Mississippi Department of Education Authorizing Board.
