Lady Irish's historic season comes to an end

St. Joseph Catholic School girls basketball coach Suzette Suggs looked out onto the court with nothing but pride as she watched her Fighting Irish play their final moments of the season Thursday night in St. Joe’s 54-39 loss to Claiborne (La.) in the quarterfinals of the MAIS Class AA South State Tournament at Greenville Christian School.

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Leroy McDavis Sr., 79, of Greenville, will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 15, at Grace Fellowship, with Minister Steven and TaJuana Cantu officiating. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.

Local teen charged in uncle’s stabbing death

A Greenville teenager is behind bars for the stabbing death of his uncle.

At 1:13 p.m. Monday, July 15, officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of Belfast Street. Inside the home, officers found the body of a 37-year-old black male, who has been identified as Jermaine Sanders.

Man arrested, charged for Friday night shooting that left 1 dead, 1 injured

A man has been charged with murder for a shooting that left one man dead and another in critical condition.

At 11:30 p.m. Friday, officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of West Alexander Street in reference to two shot people.
