Bullet, hole found inside local church early Sunday morning

Hours before church service was set to begin, there was a shooting early Sunday morning at Greater Faith Tabernacle Church.

Charles Fisher, pastor of Greater Faith Tabernacle on Burning Bush Drive, said his wife woke him up at about 3:30 a.m. Sunday morning, terrified by the noises she though have been gunfire.

Sand, bags available at Expo Center this weekend for flash flooding

Residents concerned about possible flash flooding in the next week are encouraged to bag up some sand this weekend.

The Office of Emergency Management sent out a message Friday afternoon that sand and bags are available this weekend at the Washington County Expo Building due to a threat of flash flooding next week.

I have the utmost respect for educators as it is a career I never want to be in. Teachers, without a doubt, don’t get the credit they deserve. In lieu of this year’s canceled Mighty Mississippi Music Festival, the 20th annual Highway 61 Blues Festival is returning to its home base of Leland.
