Returning home, Greenville native Collins graduates from JSU, joins IMS Engineers team

Last month, IMS Engineers brought on board one of Greenville’s own — 23-year-old Jackson State alumna Jeron Collins.

IMS Engineers, a minority-owned engineering firm based in Jackson, was appointed in January to provide services in addressing Washington County’s infrastructure needs.



City water department: Bills being sent late due to COVID-19 setbacks

A great number of municipalities are reeling from the impact of COVID-19 in some way or another, and the city’s water department is no exception.

The City of Greenville’s water department is currently dealing with the impact coronavirus has had on it as utility bills have to go out later than originally scheduled.

17-year-old handed $500k bond on capital murder charges

A teenager was handed a half million dollar bond  this week after his arrest for the murder of a man who was found dead in his home after a house fire.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department arrested 17-year-old Augusta Stribling on Friday and charged him with capital murder for the death of Charles Bowman.

Rebekka Herman sees a lot of herself when she watches her daughter, Aubree, play baseball.

Aubree is now five years old and plays shortstop for the MMC Rockets at the Delta Sportsplex. From her wheelchair inside of the dugout, Rebekka cheers for every great play her daughter makes.

Temple Baptist Church members issued $500 tickets for parking lot service

The phone rang at the mayor’s office earlier this week and the voice on the line said, “We’re having church on Wednesday, no matter what.”

The caller, according to Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons, claimed to be the pastor of Temple Baptist Church on Reed Road in Greenville.
