MEMPHIS — Dr. Barry Elmo Gerald, of Memphis, passed away peacefully, at home surrounded by family, on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020. He was 85.
All of the city’s community recycling bins will soon be rid of due to grant funds for the bins being exhausted.

City Hall will resume its regular hours Thursday.
The Greenville City front is on the schedule for 48 riverboat stops this year.
Since the boats started arriving for a generally single-day stay since 2015, the number of stops has steadily increased.
The home of Hollandale resident Carolyn Gaines and her belongings were completely lost to a fire two days before Christmas.

In the Washington County Primaries, there were no upsets of sitting elected officials. Incumbent, and unopposed Circuit Clerk Barbara Esters-Parker garnered the highest vote total of 5,066. The largest margin in a contested race went to Sheriff Milton Gaston at 4,488 votes or 83.42%.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Funeral services for Willie Gadison, 70, of Memphis, Tennessee, and formerly of Leland, will be at noon Saturday at Dillon Funeral Home Chapel, Leland. He died at his home Monday, Nov. 4, 2019. Burial will follow in Bogue Memorial Gardens, Leland.
