GPSD closes Em Boyd after employee tests positive for COVID-19

The Greenville Public School District (GPSD) announced on Tuesday an Em Boyd Elementary School employee tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In light of this information, Em Boyd, 1021 S. Colorado St., will close immediately.

Superintendent Dr. Debra Dace said the district shares its concerns about coronavirus.

David and Jake Reed finished in first place at the Mississippi River Anglers Association (MRAA) Summer Trail Tournament at Lake Washington. The team caught four bass that weighed a combined 16.64 pounds to take the first place check of $2,400.

The phone rang at the mayor’s office earlier this week and the voice on the line said, “We’re having church on Wednesday, no matter what.”

The caller, according to Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons, claimed to be the pastor of Temple Baptist Church on Reed Road in Greenville.
