Rotary District Governor applauds local club for polio eradication efforts

Local group hosting free walk for domestic violence

In honor of domestic/intimate partner violence month, Soldiers Walking With Jesus Christ (SWWJC) and the Kappa Tau Zeta chapter of Zeta Phi Beta of Greenville will be hosting a silent march for all lives lost to domestic/intimate partner violence.

The event will start at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Greenville Mall, 1651 Mississippi 1.

Teen arrested for shooting that injured man in store

A teenager has been arrested and charged for a shooting this week that injured a man at a local store.

Assistant Police Chief Michael Merchant said 18-year-old Romeo Hurt, of Greenville, was identified as the suspect who shot into a store in the 900 block of St. Charles Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

She was born March 5, 1937, in Little Rock, Arkansas, the daughter of Jesse LaNier and Mary Sudduth LaNier.

Bates started racing go karts a few years ago, but he has done so well that he is already moved up to race against grown adults.
