GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Ola Mae Wilson were at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 13, at Emmanuel Baptist Church. She passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2020, at Delta Regional Medical Center, after an extended illness. Burial was in Greenville Cemetery, under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
INDIANOLA — Funeral arrangements for Eugene Caston, 63, of Indianola, are pending with Byas Funeral Home, Indianola. He died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, at Delta Regional Medical Center, Greenville.
All of the city’s community recycling bins will soon be rid of due to grant funds for the bins being exhausted.
Kathy Avis of OmniSource/Steel Dynamics Inc., said she anticipates the city’s four bins will be completely removed by Thursday at the latest.
In observance of the Christmas holiday, trash pick up schedules and city hall hours of operation will be affected in Washington County towns and municipalities.
Greenville City Hall will be closed on Tuesday, Christmas Eve, and Wednesday, Christmas Day.
City Hall will resume its regular hours Thursday.
The Greenville City front is on the schedule for 48 riverboat stops this year.
Since the boats started arriving for a generally single-day stay since 2015, the number of stops has steadily increased.

A 64 year-old black male was shot Saturday night in the 400th block of Sunflower Street, near Doe’s Eat Place, Greenville. Just before 11 p.m. the Greenville Police Department responded to a call in reference to a shot person, whose name is being held pending family notification.
