Simmons Jr. to play in Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game

Greenville High School senior Errick Simmons Jr. has been added to the roster for the 2019 Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Game. The game kicks off at noon this Saturday in Hattiesburg.

Simmons, the Delta Democrat-Times’ Offensive Player of the Year, was a playmaker all season long for the Greenville High School football team.

1 man arrested in connection to shooting child

A man is behind bars for a shooting that sent a 12-year-old girl to a Jackson hospital, and more arrests are expected to follow.

On Monday, GPD officers arrested 21-year-old Kelvin Lewis in the 500 block of South Broadway Street.

Lewis was arrested in connection to the early Sunday morning shooting on Eighth Street.
