YAZOO CITY — St. Joseph Catholic School boys basketball coach James Hunter described his team’s 50-45 victory over Greenville Christian School Saturday in the championship game of the Class AA District-4 tournament as a total team effort.

The eighth annual marathon is set to kick off at 8 a.m. Saturday.
Online registration for the marathon and other marathon events is still open for a short time remaining, closing Thursday.
Eli Fratesi’s love of sports rubbed off on his twin sister, Ava, at an early age.
“He was always with a ball,” Ava said. “Ever since I can remember, he was always out playing sports. Watching him have so much fun made me want to try and play sports too. I have been cheering for him my whole life.”
The spring semester has just begun for many college students and come Tuesday, prospective college and graduate students from Washington County alike will be able to find out firsthand what Mississippi Valley State University is all about.
Academic excellence for all is the main goal of Greenville Public School District (GPSD) interim Superintendent Debra Dace’s administration.
