Boykin resigns from Ward 3

Greenville City Council Member Bill Boykin, who suffered a stroke in March, has presented the Greenville City Council with a letter announcing his intention to resign his position.

Ward 3 has not had representation on the council as Boykin has been unable to attend meetings since the stroke.

INDIANOLA — Graveside services for Brenda Drain Briscoe, 60, of Indianola, will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at Riverside Memorial Gardens, Indianola. She died June 5, 2020. Services are under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Indianola.


GPSD closes Em Boyd after employee tests positive for COVID-19

The Greenville Public School District (GPSD) announced on Tuesday an Em Boyd Elementary School employee tested positive for the Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In light of this information, Em Boyd, 1021 S. Colorado St., will close immediately.

Superintendent Dr. Debra Dace said the district shares its concerns about coronavirus.
