BOS denies motion to reconsider appointment after locals voice concerns at Tuesday’s meeting

Monday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting brought in a large influx of residents who, in order to be accommodated comfortably, had to join the board in one of the courtrooms instead of the usual supervisors’ chambers.

Police investigate human remains found on Christmas Day

Greenville police are investigating the remains of a human body discovered on Christmas Day.

Officers with the Greenville Police Department got a call from a concerned resident shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday about human remains found in a wooded area in the 700 block of Clay Street. A firearm was also found next to the body.




Concerned residents on agenda to address BOS at Tuesday meeting

Concerned residents of Washington County are planning to be present at Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting to discuss some recent appointments made at the first meeting of year.  

For those who would like to speak, concerned residents have been added to the agenda to address the board at 9:30 a.m.

Shaw- Services are pending with Byas Funeral Home, of Cleveland, for Lizzie King, 68, of Shaw.

She died at UMMC in Jackson Jan. 22 and will be buried under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Cleveland.

He was proceeded in death by his mother, Betty Maude Trotter.
