6 people shot over Independence Day weekend

The Greenville Police Department is seeking the public’s help to find the people responsible for two shootings that left six people injured over the Fourth of July weekend.

At 4:03 p.m. July 4, officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to King Stop, 207 Highway 1 N., in reference to two shot people.

Today, the Greenville City Council called a special call meeting to discuss the urgency in requiring masks and/or face coverings after a recent surge in COVID-19 cases. Washington County reached an increase of over 200 COVID-19 cases within fourteen days.

GSPD employee tests positive for COVID-19; Em Boyd closed

On Tuesday, the Greenville Public School District (GPSD) announced an Em Boyd Elementary School employee tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19).

In light of this information, Em Boyd, 1021 S. Colorado St., will close immediately.

Superintendent Dr. Debra Dace said the district shares its concerns about coronavirus.
