OXFORD — Ole Miss lost one of the university’s groundbreaking students and iconic football players with the passing of Robert Jerry “Ben” Williams, Jr., 65, on Monday of natural causes at St. Dominic Memorial Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi.

Washington School’s Hannah Ashley was recently awarded one of two educational scholarships given each year by the Mississippi Tennis Association. Hannah earned the scholarship not just for her excellent grades in the classroom, but also for her service in the community.
GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Arthur Lee “Jimmy” Cotton, 82, of Greenville, are pending with Harris Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Monday, May 11, 2020, at Delta Regional Medical Center.
A few years ago, the Steve Miller Band released a very fitting song that had lyrics within that were more memorable than the song’s title. “Time keeps on slippin’ slippin’ slippin into the future” is the catchy part of the song, but the song’s title, “Fly Like an Eagle” provides advice on how to best spend that time.
