LELAND- After a valiant surge to take the lead in a low scoring game, the Leland Cubs ran out of gas in the final quarter to fall 37-35 to the Coahoma County Panthers Tuesday night. Panthers senior guards Bentavious Galmore and Trumaine Jones led a fourth quarter charge where they out scored the Cubs 11-9.

GREENVILLE — Funeral arrangements for Donald Wiliams, 53, of Greenville and formerly of Indianola, are pending with Byas Funeral Home, Greenville. He died Sunday, Jan. 12, 2020, at St. Dominic Hospital, Jackson.
Greenville police are investigating the remains of a human body discovered on Christmas Day.
Officers with the Greenville Police Department got a call from a concerned resident shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday about human remains found in a wooded area in the 700 block of Clay Street. A firearm was also found next to the body.
