LELAND- After a valiant surge to take the lead in a low scoring game, the Leland Cubs ran out of gas in the final quarter to fall 37-35 to the Coahoma County Panthers Tuesday night. Panthers senior guards Bentavious Galmore and Trumaine Jones led a fourth quarter charge where they out scored the Cubs 11-9.

The gates at Greenville Cemetery have once again been the victim of a driver losing control of his vehicle.
A late-model white Mustang GT slammed into the south side of the gates, destroying one of the pillars at about 2:05 a.m. June 23.

Greenville Public School District Superintendent Dr. Janice Page-Johnson has announced plans to retire effective June 30.
Page-Johnson said she is thankful for the opportunity to serve as superintendent for the district and proud of the progress that has been made.
