Greenville Christian School’s Marcus Anderson, the Planters Bank Player of the Week, stepped up big when his team needed it last Friday night. 

In the first quarter of GCS’s 49-7 road victory over Canton Academy, Anderson saw his teammate, star running back Marlon Palmer, leave the game with an ankle injury.

The Mississippi Delta heat didn’t stop festival goers from making their way to the Queen City this weekend to get a taste of the blues. 

The 42nd annual Mississippi Delta Blues and Heritage Festival drew about 10,000 people to the Washington County Convention Center fairgrounds Saturday.

When a story of domestic abuse comes to light, the average person’s gut reaction is typically, “Why don’t they just leave?”

What may seem like an obviously simple solution to those who have never been in that situation is anything but.

This week, a Greenville woman died after police say she was attacked by her boyfriend.

Teen arrested for shooting that injured man in store

A teenager has been arrested and charged for a shooting this week that injured a man at a local store.

Assistant Police Chief Michael Merchant said 18-year-old Romeo Hurt, of Greenville, was identified as the suspect who shot into a store in the 900 block of St. Charles Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
