DCS postpones summer youth musical, making plans for short plays

Plans for the summer youth musical at Delta Center Stage have had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Delta Center Stage Executive Director Tim Bixler said the initial plans to produce Disney’s “Frozen Jr.” have been indefinitely postponed as there is not enough consensus on what is considered safe regarding crowd size.

 Mars Food North America, a well noted fixture in the American food industry, made the decision last week to evolve the Uncle Ben’s brand in light of social equality.

Mars Food on June 17 announced its decision to evolve the Uncle Ben’s brand, but details are still being determined.

Hebrew Union Temple to honor history at Hanukkah celebration

The Mississippi Delta’s Jewish population may be small, but the heart of their annual Hanukkah celebration is not.

“It’s a festive luncheon,” said Rabbi Debra Kassoff of the Hebrew Union Temple in Greenville. Hanukkah this year starts at sunset Dec. 22 and ends at nightfall Dec. 30.
