Fraternal Warriors: Allegrezza brothers ready for senior football campaigns at Deer Creek School

ARCOLA — Ethan Allegrezza and Noah Allegrezza are two fraternal twins who will each play an integral part in the success of the Deer Creek School football team this season.

Ethan is projected to be the team’s starting quarterback, while Noah will be the main ball carrier for the Warriors.

Temple Baptist Church members issued $500 tickets for parking lot service

The phone rang at the mayor’s office earlier this week and the voice on the line said, “We’re having church on Wednesday, no matter what.”

The caller, according to Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons, claimed to be the pastor of Temple Baptist Church on Reed Road in Greenville.



Greenville’s newest hotel, Tru by Hilton, opens its doors Thursday

Tru by Hilton, Greenville’s newest lodging attraction, is set to open its doors to guests Thursday evening. 

The 84-room hotel that broke ground in July 2018 is a joint partnership formed by the Chawla and Retzer families — Suresh Chawla, Mike Retzer and Michael Retzer.

Washington County, statewide results are in, absentee ballots still being tallied

Incumbents held on to each of their seats except in the District 4 supervisor vote won by Mala Brooks by a mere 13 votes over incumbent Jesse Amos. The more than 700 absentee ballots have yet to be counted in any races as of press time.

Of the 32,026 registered voters in Washington County, 11001 cast ballots in the Tuesday election.
