Concerned residents on agenda to address BOS at Tuesday meeting

Concerned residents of Washington County are planning to be present at Tuesday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting to discuss some recent appointments made at the first meeting of year.  

For those who would like to speak, concerned residents have been added to the agenda to address the board at 9:30 a.m.

Monday’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting brought in a large influx of residents who, in order to be accommodated comfortably, had to join the board in one of the courtrooms instead of the usual supervisors’ chambers.

8th annual Mississippi River Marathon set for Feb. 8

The eighth annual Mississippi River Marathon is approaching, and Race Director John Conner gave a full run-down at this week’s Greenville Rotary Club meeting.

Conner, who is serving in his third year as race director for the Mississippi River Marathon, said this year’s marathon is set to kick off at 8 a.m. Feb. 8.

Life lost to gun violence

Anthony Smith has been charged with murder and possession of firearm by a convicted felon.

Greenville police officers located Tarus Dandridge, a 41 year-old black male, who was pronounced dead on the scene by emergency medical personnel and Washington County Coroner Methel Johnson.
