At Thursday’s weekly Greenville Rotary Club Meeting, District Governor for Rotary 6820 Mark Fields delivered a keynote message that encompassed the ruthless efforts toward eliminating the polio virus and expanding the Rotary’s connection to the world.




1 man arrested in connection to shooting child

A man is behind bars for a shooting that sent a 12-year-old girl to a Jackson hospital, and more arrests are expected to follow.

On Monday, GPD officers arrested 21-year-old Kelvin Lewis in the 500 block of South Broadway Street.

Lewis was arrested in connection to the early Sunday morning shooting on Eighth Street.

GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Kattie Ruth Maxey Predelus, 85, of Greenville, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. She died Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at Delta Regional Medical Center. Burial will be at Oaklawn Cemetery, under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.
