Local church steps up to serve lunch during coronavirus pandemic

First Baptist Church Pastor Matt Alexander is organizing a curbside lunch pickup for school-aged youth twice a week while children are out of school.

Governor Tate Reeves announced Thursday morning all public schools in Mississippi will be closed through April 17 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Police search for man who robbed business, tied up employee

Local police are searching for a man who robbed Title Plus and Loans and tied up the employee inside.

At about 1 p.m. today, Greenville Police Department’s Patrol Division and Criminal Investigations Division responded to Title Plus and Loans, located in the 1400 block of Highway 1, in reference to an armed robbery.

City residents to pay for trash pickup starting in October

Monday’s Greenville City Council special budget session sparked a voting difference between the council members about charging for trash pickup.

The City of Greenville, compared to other cities throughout the Delta, has never charged to pick up trash in the city, but that’s about to change.
