South Delta Planning & Development helping county apply for 2020 CDBG through MDA

With the assistance of South Delta Planning & Development District, Washington County will be applying for the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.

The Washington County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously to adopt a resolution to apply for a fiscal year 2020 CDBG through the Mississippi Development Authority.

It has been 22 years since former Delta Democrat-Times sports editor Mitch Ariff passed away, but his memory and legacy is still going strong.

Ever since I came to the DD-T almost two years ago, Mitch’s name has come up every so often. Whenever it has, he is always spoken of in the highest regard.

Local teen charged in uncle’s stabbing death

A Greenville teenager is behind bars for the stabbing death of his uncle.

At 1:13 p.m. Monday, July 15, officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of Belfast Street. Inside the home, officers found the body of a 37-year-old black male, who has been identified as Jermaine Sanders.
