Sid Guest, co-owner of Stamson’s, and Allison Nimrod, owner of Sherman’s, have adjusted their business plans to cope with the current environment.

GREENVILLE — Graveside services for Charles Bowman, 67, of Greenville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at Lakewood Cemetery, Greenville. He died Saturday, March 21, 2020. Services are under the direction of Byas Funeral Home, Greenville.

Former NFL receiver and Greenville native Gloster Richardson died February 27 in Chicago at the age of 77. The two-time Super Bowl Champion will be best remembered for taking the play to the huddle from Kansas City Chiefs head coach Hank Schramm that helped the Chiefs seal the victory in Super Bowl IV.

Romeo Hurt

Teen arrested for shooting that injured man in store

A teenager has been arrested and charged for a shooting this week that injured a man at a local store.

Assistant Police Chief Michael Merchant said 18-year-old Romeo Hurt, of Greenville, was identified as the suspect who shot into a store in the 900 block of St. Charles Street shortly after 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Local teen charged in uncle’s stabbing death

A Greenville teenager is behind bars for the stabbing death of his uncle.

At 1:13 p.m. Monday, July 15, officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of Belfast Street. Inside the home, officers found the body of a 37-year-old black male, who has been identified as Jermaine Sanders.
