OXFORD — Don Oliver Gleason Sr., 77, of Oxford, passed away Monday, Dec. 2, 2019. Born in Greenwood, he was the son of John H. and Betty Caperton (Eastland) Gleason, of Doddsville, in Sunflower County.

In the Washington County Primaries, there were no upsets of sitting elected officials. Incumbent, and unopposed Circuit Clerk Barbara Esters-Parker garnered the highest vote total of 5,066. The largest margin in a contested race went to Sheriff Milton Gaston at 4,488 votes or 83.42%.
