The Rev. Cedell Raggs will officiate.

RULEVILLE — Funeral services for James E. “King” Foster, 46, of Chicago, formerly of Ruleville will be 1:30 p.m., Saturday, June 13, 2020 at T.L. Redmon Funeral Home Chapel. He died May 30, 2020 at home. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ruleville under the direction of the T. L. Redmon Funeral Home, Cleveland.

Greenville police seek public’s help after man found dead in vacant lot

Local police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found lying in a vacant lot Tuesday morning.

Assistant Police Chief Michael Merchant said officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched at about 6:30 a.m. Tuesday for a welfare concern call.

Greenville mayor rescinds church citations; ordinance remains intact

Parishioners ticketed for holding a drive-in service April 8 at  Temple Baptist Church will not have to pay the $500 fine issued in violation of Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons’ executive order restricting indoor and drive-in church gatherings due to the coronavirus pandemic.


City residents to pay for trash pickup starting in October

Monday’s Greenville City Council special budget session sparked a voting difference between the council members about charging for trash pickup.

The City of Greenville, compared to other cities throughout the Delta, has never charged to pick up trash in the city, but that’s about to change.
