The Washington County Board of Supervisors will meet for their second regular meeting of the month at 9 a.m. Monday, at the Washington County Extension Building.
A public hearing on the Washington County Flood Damage Prevention ordinance is scheduled for 10 a.m.
According to the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency (MEMA), the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) is a federal program enabling property owners and renters to purchase flood insurance.
It is based on an agreement between communities and the federal government that if a community adopts and enforces certain floodplain regulations, the federal government will make flood insurance available in that community.
MEMA is the designated state agency for NFIP Daniel Hooker, serves as the floodplain administrator for Washington County.
The BOS will also hear submitted bids on flooring installation at the Department of Human Services’ office.
