Every day is a day of thanksgiving, which is an ideal City of Greenville Councilwoman Lurann Thomas is a firm believer of.
In honor of Thanksgiving Day this year, Thomas is giving Ward 4 and other local residents a reason to be thankful by hosting a turkey dinner giveaway this weekend.
The turkey dinner giveaway starts at 9 a.m. Saturday at Rounds Park Center, which is located off of Theobald Street.
The dinner will include turkey, rice and green beans and will continue until all meals are given away.
Thomas said although her role as councilwoman represents Ward 4, anyone who desires a dinner is welcome to come out.
“This is just my way of giving back to the residents of Ward 4 and any other citizens of the Greenville community. And, it's my way of saying thank you for the wonderful job they do in Ward 4,” she said.
When Thomas was elected as councilwoman for Ward 4 in 2018, she formed an organization called Project Ward 4, which has different activities that take place throughout the year for the betterment of her community.
“The mission is to just empower our community to be better and to love what we do,” she said. “I love what I do and I try to help as many citizens as I can, they don’t have to live in Ward 4.”
