We found out who actually cares about Greenville on Monday, and, frankly, it’s not that many people.
Only 351 of the 3,675 registered voters in Ward 1 came out to decide what is the single most important race in our community. Only 318 of the 3,421 registered voters in Ward 6 voted Monday.

Basketball is a family passion for McPhersons

Now the head girls basketball coach for the Lady Generals, McPherson was an All-State player in high school when she graduated in 1989. Longtime followers of the program say she was one of the best to ever play for the school.

Visitation was from 1-2 p.m. Dec. 1, at Mortimer Funeral Home with funeral services immediately following. Interment was at Greenville Cemetery, under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home, Greenville.

Domestic violence is the motive behind the loss of two lives Tuesday, according the Greenville Police Department investigators.
Robbie Walker-Grossley, 49,was murdered by her husband, Christopher Grossley, 54. After shooting his wife, Christopher Grossley ended his life through suicide.

Last Supper presented in living portrayal

The event is a drama based on the painting of the Last Supper by Leonardo DaVinci, which is brought to life on stage.

Domestic violince appears to be the motive of a husband, 54, shooting his wife, 49, and then turning the gun on himself, according to the Greenville Police Department.

A 64 year-old black male was shot Saturday night in the 400th block of Sunflower Street, near Doe’s Eat Place, Greenville. Just before 11 p.m. the Greenville Police Department responded to a call in reference to a shot person, whose name is being held pending family notification.

Washington County election: no upsets
By STAFF REPORT,In the Washington County Primaries, there were no upsets of sitting elected officials. Incumbent, and unopposed Circuit Clerk Barbara Esters-Parker garnered the highest vote total of 5,066. The largest margin in a contested race went to Sheriff Milton Gaston at 4,488 votes or 83.42%.
