GREENVILLE — Glenda Boyd, 81, of Greenville, went to be with the Lord Sunday, Jan. 19, 2020, in Ridgeland.

Glenda was born in Pie Town, New Mexico, on Feb. 15, 1938, to Joseph Sr. and Lessie Creamer. She loved being a true homemaker, as well as crafts, sewing, and spending time with her family.


Temple Baptist Church members issued $500 tickets for parking lot service


The phone rang at the mayor’s office earlier this week and the voice on the line said, “We’re having church on Wednesday, no matter what.”

The caller, according to Greenville Mayor Errick Simmons, claimed to be the pastor of Temple Baptist Church on Reed Road in Greenville.

Local teen charged in uncle’s stabbing death


A Greenville teenager is behind bars for the stabbing death of his uncle.

At 1:13 p.m. Monday, July 15, officers with the Greenville Police Department were dispatched to the 1200 block of Belfast Street. Inside the home, officers found the body of a 37-year-old black male, who has been identified as Jermaine Sanders.
