SOUTHAVEN — Funeral services for Annie Mae “Mama-Precious” Briggs Greenberry, 100, of Southaven and formerly of Greenville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 9, at St. Thomas MB Church, Lamont, with the Rev. Cicero Hall officiating. She died Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019, at Diversicare Nursing Home, Southaven. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery, Greenville, under the direction of T.L. Redmon Funeral Home, Cleveland.
Annie was born to Samuel and Estella Skinner on June 24, 1919, in Winterville.
She was raised in Lamont, graduated from Coleman High School and received a B.S. in education from Mississippi Valley State University. She touched and inspired countless students over 39 years of teaching in Scott and in the Greenville Public Schools.
Survivors include her son, Douglass (Janet) Watts, of Vicksburg; daughter, Lois (Dr. Eugene) Sargent, of Memphis, Tennessee; sister, Matilda Young, of Greenville; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Friday, Nov. 8, at the funeral home.
