Arthur Weeks Jr.
LELAND — “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
Arthur Lee “Bud” Weeks Jr., 73, of Leland, was born April 22, 1947, to Arthur and Gladys Weeks Sr. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was baptized at an early age at White Star MB Church, Belzoni. He later joined New Mt. Ararat MB Church, Stoneville, under the leadership of Pastor Allen Blake.
Bud was determined to be somebody; therefore, he was hired at the Illinois Central Railroad Company, Greenville and retired from the same company after 30-plus years of service as a Trackman. In addition, he owned and operated a restaurant and lounge in Greenville. He believed in helping those who were in need and he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
