GREENVILLE – Graveside services for Charlie James Douglas, 68, of Ellenwood, Georgia, and formerly of Greenville, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Sunrise Church Cemetery, Tralake. He passed away July 27, 2020, at Piedmont Henry Hospital, Stockbridge, Georgia. Services are under the direction of Bush Funeral Services, Leland.
Mr. Douglas was born July 2, 1952, in Arcola, and graduated from Simmons High School in 1972. He then served his country with distinction, strength and courage as an active member of the United States Army. He retired after serving 25 years with the Army and Army Reserve. Aside from his family, Charlie devoted many years to Ayers Delta Implement in Leland.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: a loving and devoted wife, Debra Hall-Douglas; four daughters, Patricia Hunter of Hollandale, Tammy Wardale and Lola (Rodney) Sturdivant of Arcola, and Lashunda (Robert) Johnson of Ellenwood, GA; ten sisters, Elizabeth (Willie) Humphrey of Lynwood, IL, Geraldine (Colee, Jr.) Jackson of Hollandale, Evonne Bell of Rolling Fork, Doris Jackson of Katy, TX, Mural Wilson of Leland, Brinda (Willie) Frazier, Beatrice Douglas, Sherelean Douglas, Gwen (Darron) Bailey, all of Arcola, and Sharon McNair of Greenville; five brothers, Robert Graves of Collins, Ben (Eula) Douglas of Chicago, IL, Arthur (Annette) Douglas, Jr. of Memphis, TN, Charles (Charlene) Jackson of Baton Rouge, LA, and Kerry (Gertrude) Jackson of Texas; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 1 sister-in-law, 2 brothers-in-law; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
