David Sullivan Sr.
HURLEY — David Lamar Sullivan Sr., 58, of Hurley, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 23, 2020, at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, LA. He was born Jan. 15, 1962, to Thomas Lamar Sullivan and Dorothy “Dot” Cotten in Rolling Fork. He loved his family, his community, his country, and his fur babies.
After high school, David served in the Mississippi National Guard for six years. He dedicated the majority of his life to law enforcement, and David cherished the relationships he made with his fellow law enforcement officers during his career. For the last 19 years, he has worked for the Mississippi Department of Corrections as a Probation and Parole Supervisor for six counties in Southern Mississippi. Even though David was committed to his career, he always put his family before everything else in his life. They enjoyed spending time together and traveling to places such as, Estes Park, Colorado and Seagrove Beach, Florida. He was a member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Pascagoula.
He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Louise Sullivan, his two brothers, Tony and Brad Sullivan, grandfather, Marvin Cotten, and his mother-in-law, Patricia Crosby.
In addition to his parents, left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 25 years, Cheryl Crosby Sullivan; sons, David Lamar (Leslie) Sullivan, Jr. and Michael Wayne (Randi) Sullivan; grandchildren, Kaleb William Butcher, David Lane Sullivan, Maranda LeAnn Sullivan, David Lamar “Trey” Sullivan, III, and AnnMarie Adele Sullivan; siblings, Kitty Sullivan, Joe Sullivan, Patsy Hobbs, Todd Sullivan, and Brian Sullivan; and step-mother, Elouise Sullivan; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A celebration of life will be held for Mr. David at a future date to be determined by his family.
