GREENVILLE — Graveside services for Helen Irene Skinner, 94, of Greenville, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 15, at Greenville Cemetery, under the direction of Mortimer Funeral Home. She passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2020, in Jackson.
Helen was born to William Calvin and Hazel Lee in Jackson on Aug. 18, 1925. She was a member of the First Baptist Church and was a nurse aid at King’s Daughters Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her husband, JT Skinner; her parents; brothers, Jack Lee and Douglas Lee; and sister, Maurine Glassford.
She is survived by her son, Tom Skinner, of Cypress, Texas; daughter, Bonnie Skinner English (Johnny), of Clinton; her brothers, Steve Lee (Jeanne), of Colorado, Bill Lee (Debra), of Hollandale, and Ed Lee (Tereasa), of Panama City, Florida; her sisters, Betty Ann Coleman, of Utah, and Patsy Zepponi, of Leland; four grandchildren, David Hydrick (Crystal), Craig Hydrick, Diana Vineyard, and Shauna Garcia (Nicolas); as well as six great-grandchildren, Tyler Hydrick (Bobbi), Kadin Hydrick, Tucker Hydrick, Koby Hydrick, Olivia Garcia, and Isabel Garcia; and one great-great-granddaughter, Hattie Hydrick.
The family will receive friends from 1-2 p.m. Saturday at Mortimer Funeral Home before the graveside service. Social distancing guidelines will be followed, alternating 10 visitors at a time.
