Greenville – In the early morning hours of Jan. 25, 2019, Jackie Charlene Tindall, of Greenville, passed from this earth into the loving arms of God.
Born in Delta City on Nov. 27, 1935, her parents, Hazel and Luke Boykin, raised her with their other four children, Lucy, Winston, Wayne and Edgar. Jackie’s brother Edgar preceeder her in passing. Her other siblings now reside, accordingly, in Oklahoma and California.
Jackie went to Bass High School in Greenville, and during that time, met Billy Tindall, of Eudora, Arkansas. They were married in Greenville where they shared their life until Billy’s passing in Aug. 2000.
Jackie’s life was filled with her children, Billy Jr. and Charlene. In addition, Jackie was the proud owner of “Jackie’s Monograming” and made beautiful uniforms for countless cheerleaders and ball players with her free-hand decorations and lettering.
After closing shop she and Billy worked closely with Charlene running Toddler Town Day Care. It was here hundreds of children came to know “Meme” and experienced her love. After Billy’s death, Jackie lived with her caring daughter, Charlene, and her husband, Jerry Steed, in Greenville. During this time, she was surrounded by her grandchildren, Jason Campbell, Ashley Hughes and Rebecca Poe, and her daughter-in-law, Ashton Campbell. Their children, Landon, Ayden, Ave Clare, Camp, Farah, Luke and Lane delighted their great-grandmother.
Jackie was a devoted Baptist and member of Parkview Baptist Church, and later, Cornerstone Baptist Church. We are happy that Jackie is now with God and no longer suffers the pain of this earth. We will celebrate her life 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2019, with family visitation following at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Baptist Church, Greenville.
