GREENVILLE — Graveside services for Joyce Rosetta Rollins, 69, of Greenville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 16, at Sanders Cemetery, Shaw, with the Rev. Richard Williams Jr. officiating. She died Saturday, May 16, 2020, at Delta Regional Medical Center. Services are under the direction of Redmon Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born Aug. 23, 1950, to the parents of Richard and Ella Mae Williams in Mound Bayou. She received her education in Benoit/Nugent Center School System (Class of 1968).
She accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age Rock of Ages MB Church, Meltonia, under the Leadership of the Rev. Bryant T. Eastman.
In 1973, she married William Earl Rollins. To their matrimony, they had one one son, William Earl Rollins Jr.; one daughter, Nikki Rollins. Mrs. Rollins relocated to Chicago in 1973. She was employed with the hospital system of Illinois for 21 years as a phlebotomist, she relocated to Greenville. She was employed at DRMC as a Laboratory Phlebotomist until her retirement in 2013.
In 2012, she joined the Zion Baptist Church, Greenville, under the leadership of her brother, Pastor Richard J. Williams, where she remained until her health failed.
Mrs Rollins was a person, who worked to provide for her family and whatever she could do to lend a helping hand, she was more than willing, she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Joyce departed this life Thursday, May 7, 2020, at the Allegiance Specialty Hospital in Greenville.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Williams Sr.; her grandmother, Willie B. Wood; and two sisters, Rose-Mary Williams and Patsy Shaw.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a daughter, Nikki Rollins, of Greenville; a son, William Earl Rollins Jr., of Chicago; four grandchildren, Crystal Ramson Christopher Ramson, DeAndre Rollins, and Asley Rollins, all of Greenville; one great-grandchild, Kayleigh Danley; her mother, Ella Mae Williams; two sisters, Diane Morris and Sandra Williams; and two brothers, the Rev. Richard and Carlon Williams and Tony and Erica Williams.
