KING GEORGE, Va. — LCDR Kendall J. Miller (United States Navy, Ret.), 58, of King George, Virginia, passed away unexpectedly Friday, June 14, 2019. Born and raised in Greenville, he participated in the local YMCA sports, swam on the Port City Propellers swim team, became an Eagle Scout, and was a National Honor Society member of Greenville High School. He was also a member of First Baptist Church and the youth choir, and a 1978 graduate of Greenville High School.
Kendall was a 1982 graduate of the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis and had retired after a career in the Navy as a Submariner. After retirement, Kendall worked in private industry, ending up at NSWC Dahlgren where he was a Supervisory General Engineer at MDA. He was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church, where he sang in the choir. He loved sailing and was the Commodore of the Dahlgren Yacht Club.
Kendall is survived by his wife of 22 years, Jean Miller; his mother, Lillian Miller; his four children, Andrew, Thomas, Elizabeth, Rachel, and Elliott Agostine; his siblings, Nadalyn Riggins, Philip Miller, Melissa Schindler, and Lyon Miller; and a granddaughter.
A memorial service was held Friday, June 21, at Shiloh Baptist Church, King George, Virginia. Burial, with Full Navy Honors, will take place in Arlington National Cemetery at a future date and time.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh Baptist Church in Virginia.
