Major Hilliard Wade
FORT WORTH, Texas — Funeral services for Major Hilliard “Buck” Wade, 61, of Fort Worth, Texas, and formerly of Greenville, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, Greenville, with Minister Earnest Wade officiating. Dr. Albert Mark is pastor of the church. Burial will be at St. MB Church, Lobdell, following the service. Services are under the direction of Meredith Nowell Funeral Home, 314 E. 2nd St., Clarksdale.
He is survived by his loving wife, Karen Vassel-Wade, of Fort Worth, Texas; eight loving sisters, Lorene Taylor, Mary Alice Taylor, Pauline (Matthew) Johnson, Rachel (Stylon) McCoy, Shirley (James) Jackson and Josephine Wade, all of Greenville, Herstine (Leonard) Taylor, of Beulah, and Genetta Hargrove, of Evans, Georgia; three brothers, Antonio Renaldo (Le’Keshia) Wade, of Grovetown, Georgia, James Earl Wade, of Chesapeake, Virginia, Minister Earnest Wade, of Jackson; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins and friends.
Family hour will be from 2-5 p.m. Friday, May 7, at St. John Missionary Baptist Church, Lobdell. Public viewing will be from 9-11 a.m. Saturday at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 217 Third St., Greenville.
