GREENVILLE — Funeral services for Marie E. Poole, 93 of Greenville, will be at 11 a.m. Monday, June 14, at Boone Funeral Home, Greenville. She died Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Delta Health-The Medical Center. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
Marie was born in Decatur, Alabama, and was the daughter of James A. and Lottie Lovin Garnett.
She loved playing bridge, riding motorcycles and was a member of Red Hatters Club. She worked for The Greenville Shopper and retired from there after 24 years. Marie was a lifelong member of Grace Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Charlyne Newlin Baker; and one brother, Lakin Lovin Garnett.
She is survived by her husband of almost 74 years, Othar Talmadge Poole, of Greenville; two sons, Britt (Patsy) Poole, of Greenville, and David (Cheryl) Poole, of Rose Bud, AR; and two grandsons, Clint Poole, of Ridgeland, and Jason (Darla) Poole, of Boyle.
There will be a visitation from 10-11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Methodist Church of Greenville or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
