WAYSIDE — Funeral services for Nancy Daniels Simpson, 78, of Wayside, were at 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 30, at Lake Washington Baptist Church, Glen Allen. She passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2019, at her home, surrounded by family. Burial will be at County Line Cemetery, Glen Allan, under the direction of Boone Funeral Home, Greenville.
She was born June 13, 1941, in Indianola, to Louis and Lily Mae Daniels. She graduated high school from Glen Allen High School in 1959. She worked for Western Line School District for over 20 years. After retirement, she enjoyed her family.
Nancy was a strong willed and selfless woman. She took many names, daughter, sister, wife, mother, friend, and to most, Granny. She loved spending pretty days outside in her flower garden. Although she loved outdoors, her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her biggest blessings that kept her busy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Lily Mae Daniels, sister, Jeaneane McBride; and her husband, Mack Simpson.
Nancy is survived by her brother and sister, Clifton Daniels and Carolyn Ross, of Glen Allen; her three daughters, Nancy McDaniel, of Wayside, Lynda Simpson, of Wayside, and Shelia King, of Greenville; four granddaughters, Erin Triplett, of Leland, Mika Hogue, of Wayside, Kurstie King, of Greenville, and Halie (Josh) Warn, of Morton; one grandson, Reed Simpson (Hannah), of Leland; and six great-grandchildren, Cayden, Carson, Lily-Michael, Ryker, Hayes, and Lainey Grace.
There will be a visitation from noon to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
