GREENVILLE — Robert Lawrence Coburn, 75, of Greenville, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2019, at Delta Regional Medical Center.
Bob was born Sept. 15, 1944, in Houston, Texas, the son of Luther Coburn and Lucille Thompson Coburn.
He graduated from Bellaire High School in Houston and went on to graduate from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor’s Degree in engineering. He played offensive line and defensive line in football in both high school and college. Bob worked at Uncle Ben’s/Mars, Inc., where he retired as the Industrial Engineering Manager. He was a member of the Boys and Girls Club (Board Member), Rotary Club, and a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. He enjoyed football, golf, his 1957 Chevy, spending time with family, church, and we will all miss his dry sense of humor.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Patsy Coburn; children, Michelle Coburn Jones, of Choudrant, Louisiana, Carla (Kenton) Getz, of Richardson, Texas, and Jeff (Ashley) Turner, of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Jean Burns, of Houston, Texas; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one on the way.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 10, at Trinity United Methodist Church; visitation will be held one hour prior to the service in the parlor. Interment will be in Greenville Cemetery.
